Milton Glaser

Milton Glaser is among the most celebrated graphic designers in the United States. He has the distinction of one-man-shows at the Museum of Modern Art and the Georges Pompidou Center. In 2004 he recieved the lifetime achievement award from the Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum. As a Fulbright scholar, Glaser studied with the painter, Giorgio Morandi. In 2010 Glaser was awarded the National Medal of Arts, he is the first graphic designer to receive this award.

Milton's work is fascinating to me and one of the major reasons I decided to pursue Graphic Design as a career field.

I recently read his "Road To Hell" and found it to be a sobering read. I really enjoyed the discourse related to his "Road To Hell".

I first encountered Milton Glaser dancing the WOOWOO with Henry Wolfe at the Aspen Design Conference 1974. Since I have heard him on subjects such as Plagarism&Homage. Sins Against Design etc. in Dallas, NYC. His classes at SVA were always over subscribed, the smartest man in design.
