Amanda Palmer

Amanda Palmer is a musician and writer who first rose to prominence as the lead singer, pianist, and lyricist/composer of the duo The Dresden Dolls. In addition to a successful solo career, she is also one-half of the duo Evelyn Evelyn, and is the lead singer and songwriter of Amanda Palmer and the Grand Theft Orchestra. Her 2014 memoir is The Art of Asking: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Let People Help.

Debbie talks to Amanda about her wild and wandering path to the rock stage, and about how behind her artistic ambitions is the drive to feel real. "What I really wanted was to feel like I was doing something that contributed and mattered, and that I was in a true conversation with the world and with other people."

Thank you for featuring Amanda Palmer. It's not very often that you get to hear the opinions of female musicians. I'd really like a transcription of the podcast for my own safekeeping in storage because I found some of her words rather inspiring. Is there any way to get my hands on something like that?
